In Monza Esselunga will finance the promotion of the territory and some works which will be carried out by the Municipality: the actions are listed in agreement for the expansion of the viale Libertà supermarket that the company will sign with piazza Trento e Trieste.
Monza, Esselunga will expand the internal sales surface in viale Libertà: from 2,500 to 4,330 square meters
The company the surface area intended for sales will increase, going from just 2,500 square meters to 4,330 square meters of which 2,793 will be occupied by food, without modifying the external layout of the building and without increasing its overall surface area of 7,585 square meters. The operation is permitted by the pgt which allows the expansion of the average sales structure prior to 2017 while respecting the volumes of the properties: the path has already been taken by Esselunga in 2020 to enlarge the supermarket in via Buonarroti.
Monza, Esselunga will expand the internal surface area: in exchange funding for events and trade
In exchange for the green light the company committed to undertaking a two-year program for the valorisation of local products through agreements with consortia and districts for which it will allocate 10,000 euros per year, to pay 5,000 euros per year for five years to the Municipality for the organization of events to promote the territory, to provide other 83,000 euros intended to support small commercial businesses in Monza and the surrounding area which will be launched through the commercial districts recognized by the Region.

It will also film in Piazza Trento and Trieste 726,000 euros to be used in the creation of new projects and 450,000 euros for the installation of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of some schools.
In the agreement there is no reference to the tunnel between Libertà and Sicilia avenues that the organization should have dug with the 8,500,000 allocated by the company about ten years ago.
