BRINDISI – Addressing the major critical issues of the health service in the Brindisi area and sharing possible solutions: this is why a Forza Italia delegation met the general director of the Brindisi Local Health Authority, Maurizio De Nuccio, last Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Laura De Mola, provincial coordinator of Fi Brindisi, Livia Antonucci, deputy coordinator, and Paride Mazzotta, Italian group leader in the Regional Council.

The risk of closing the physiotherapy department of the Fasano PTA was discussed, due to the imminent retirement of the only specialist in service: on this, the general director assured that the continuity of the service will not be affected.

The issue of the presence of doctors on board the ambulances was also addressed, with particular reference to the territory of the municipality of Brindisi, a point on which De Nuccio personally committed himself to providing a complete mapping of all medicalized and non-medicalized ambulances, opening up the possibility to review the distribution of the same throughout the territory and reassuring the Brindisi budget councilor, Livia Antonucci, of maximum collaboration.

On these and other critical issues, the group leader Mazzotta guaranteed full availability to intervene by urging the regional health department, thus supporting the commitment of the health company and local institutions.

Laura De Mola, in addition to the physiotherapy service, asked the general director for greater attention to the process of updating the provincial tumor registry, in conjunction with the updating of the regional one, to have more and more data available and, therefore, a clear picture more precise of the situation throughout the territory. De Nuccio announced that the data relating to 2020 will be made available shortly: data which, however, may not correspond to the real situation as, in 2020, there was a drop in diagnoses for the postponement – due to Covid – of several essential diagnostic tests.

“The meeting was fruitful – declared Forza Italia representatives Mazzotta, De Mola and Antonucci – and took place in a climate of great collaboration. The intent is to strengthen the health service offered to the citizens of the province of Brindisi and on this the general director will see us at the forefront, as always, and ready to support any useful action to achieve the objective”.
