Work, 11 thousand unemployed regain a job – Pescara

PESCARA. Employment is growing. The Region rejoices and celebrates May Day with the numbers of the increase. Two data stand out above all: almost 40 thousand unemployed profiled in 2023 by the Employment Centers thanks to the Gol program (Guarantee of employability of workers), and the percentage of 47.1% of the beneficiaries who, as of 30 July 2023, had had an employment relationship 180 days after being taken over by the CPI. We are talking about 11,078 Abruzzo residents, a value that has certainly grown in the last eight months.
At a national level it is the fifth best performance in a ranking which sees the Autonomous Province of Bolzano in first place. And it’s a full seven points above the national average of 41%. Women appear to be more involved in the measure. The 30-54 age group remains the predominant one. And the hours of work support provided were 31,658. Furthermore, the notices for Gol paths 2 and 5 (collective training and relocation), two ESF tenders (destined for fragility and time/family reconciliation) and a final tender with Inail funds on health and safety in the workplace are currently being examined. , the latter theme should never be lost sight of. «What better way to celebrate May Day than with positive employment data and new resources to be allocated to new job opportunities», said the regional councilor for Work and Productive Activities on the eve of Labor Day, Tiziana Magnacca whoyesterday morning, in a press conference with the president, Marcus Marsiliotook stock of the active policies launched by the Regional Council.
THE COUNCILOR SPEAKS
«The employment indicators», explained Magnacca, «are all positive: from the employment rate, which rose to 61.3% in 2023, higher than the figure for the previous two years, to the unemployment rate which fell in 2023 to 8.3% compared to the previous one consolidated at 9.6%.
The numbers on the jobs that Abruzzo has been able to produce give us hope for the future, but above all they highlight how the Region is recovering the historical gap with other regions by realigning itself with the parameters desired by the European Union”.
Councilor Magnacca refers in particular to female employment which rose to 52% with an increase of 4.5% over 2022 and 5.3% over 2021. Another interesting data is linked to the starts by type of contract which in 2023 reached the quota of 270 thousand, also in this case an increase compared to the past. «A sign», she underlined, «of a business world that invests in employment with the prospect of growing confidence in consumption». The Gol program was decisive.
WHAT IS IT
The Workers Employability Guarantee program is a reform action envisaged by the Pnrr which has the objective of accompanying people in search of work and provides tools and measures to encourage their insertion/reintegration or to start retraining paths. Gol is based on the personalization of services offered by public and private structures. Thanks to a more targeted basic orientation that allows for a careful evaluation of employability, the person is directed towards the path most suited to his or her needs. The potential beneficiaries of the program are: male and female workers receiving social safety nets or other forms of income support (Naspi – DisColl – Support for Training and Work Sfl – Inclusion Allowance), young Neets (under 30), women, people with disabilities, over 55s, workers with very low incomes, people unemployed for more than six months.
WHAT IT INVOLVES
Gol involves an in-depth intake interview in the Employment Centres, during which the operator reconstructs his professional path with the person, analyzes his skills and identifies any objective or subjective factors that may constitute elements of fragility. At the end of the interview, based on the employability profile detected, the person is directed towards one of the following paths.
FOUR OPTIONS
Employment reintegration: is aimed at people who have skills that can be immediately used in the relevant job market for which an intervention mainly of orientation and support towards work is necessary.
Update (Upskilling): it is reserved for those who need to update their skills to facilitate their reintegration process. The training interventions provided are mainly short-term (40 or 70 hours) and have a professionalising content. At the end of the course, a skills and competence sheet is issued.
Reskilling: is aimed at people who need a professional retraining process in order to adapt their skills to the new needs that emerge in the context of the reference job market. Generally speaking, the training courses last 300 hours (180 in the classroom and 120 on an internship) and issue a certification of skills
Work and inclusion: is dedicated to subjects in conditions of fragility/vulnerability characterized by the lack of work and the presence of further social or health problems. In addition to the previous services, it provides for the activation of the network of local social and/or health services.
