RMB Brixia Basket remains in Serie A1 thanks to the 65-75 victory over Repower Sanga Milano in Game 2 of the first playout round. The match begins with great balance, with the two teams responding blow for blow. Sanga is the first to attempt a small escape, with Toffali’s triple making it +7 (18-11), but Louka and Boothe bring Brescia back to -4 (21-17). Urbaniak’s three-point play gives the hosts the +7 (24-17) again, but a 0-6 run allows Brescia to get back to just one point behind. Bonomi’s triple pushes the opponents back and Tulonen’s basket sets the score at 29-25 after ten minutes. Despite the visitors’ attempts at a comeback in the second period, Milan managed to defend their lead, with Brescia regaining parity at 35 just three minutes before the break. However, Toffali and Madonna do not allow Brescia to put their heads in front and thanks to their baskets at half-time the score is 39-35. Milan tries to get to +6 with Turel, but Brescia responds with two triples from Tassinari and Louka and immediately returns to parity at 41. Garrick, with Brescia’s third triple in two minutes, puts his team ahead (43-44). Brescia remained in front for the entire quarter, until Bonomi’s triple gave the advantage back to Sanga, who closed the quarter at 51-50. In the last half the balance that had reigned until then was broken and thanks to the three-point shot Brescia took home the match. In fact, the guests reached the first +11 with Garrick (55-66) and from that moment Sanga was no longer able to get closer than -7. Tassinari’s free throws score the final 65-75, with Brescia sending five players to double figures. Garrick is the top scorer with 22, while Carlotta Zanardi finishes with 10 assists. Sanga is waiting for the match between Faenza and Battipaglia to know its opponent in the second playout round.
