The island of Lampedusa will host the 2025 edition of Giovaneinfesta. The announcement at the end of the 2024 youth festival which was held today, May 1st, in an itinerant manner between Lucca Sicula, Villafranca and Burgio, where, at the end of the intense and wet day, the passage of the “youth cross” to the community of Lampedusa. The cross has been passed from one community to another for 31 years at the end of each youth celebration since, on 9 May 1993, it was delivered by Saint John Paul II to over 18 thousand young people from Agrigento and Sicily during the meeting at the stadium “Essenet”. However, next year’s edition will be the first time that the cross leaves the “mainland” and lands in the Greater Pelagie.
