PERUGIA – The Alessandro Volta state technical-technological institute of Perugia was the protagonist of the fifth episode of the “Scuola” podcast, created by Edulia Treccani. The podcast aims to tell stories of excellence in the world of education, giving voice to testimonies that can inspire the entire educational community and restore an image of a school ready to face the challenges of the future. The episode dedicated to Volta, entitled ‘Schools of Peace’, tells what it means to educate for peace through the voices of the protagonists: Fabiana Cruciani, head teacher of the Itts Volta in Perugia, Professor Tiziana Guerrini, coordinator of Civic Education of the school, the students Olga Cosenza and Pietro Mercanti and Flavio Lotti, director of the Perugia – Assisi Foundation.

The proposed paths are not just about repudiating war, but about teaching care, hospitality and sharing. What the Network of ‘Schools of Peace’ proposes, of which the Volta manager has been the national coordinator since 2021, is not only a path of growth and knowledge, but also a human and personal one. The podcast was presented to the school community on the occasion of the Civic Week full of events of national and local importance and linked to the institute’s teaching activity. Starting from April 19th with the meeting with Pope Francis, training for schools that promote health, Avis donation activities and debates on the topics of civic education.
