‘Today is May Day, Labor and Workers’ Day. But not only.
On May 1st the Titini entered Trieste which brought death and information. Even more so, May Day is a moment of reflection for all free women and men who believe in freedom.
Values and reflections that again this year, in Trieste, were betrayed during the procession with flags and t-shirts that instead recall dictatorships, abuses and denied freedoms.
Still seeing symbols that recall Tito’s regime and his dictatorship are deeply embittering and disappointing: all political communities, without exception, have the moral obligation to firmly condemn such symbols, loudly denouncing those who feel nostalgic for them .
This is a reminder that should be addressed, first and foremost, to the entire galaxy of the Trieste left who should understand that freedom, work and rights are not represented by a red star or a twentieth-century foreign flag, stained with the blood of our people.
Today, therefore, it is right to honor all workers, but we will never forget those who perished at the hands of Tito’s anti-Italian hatred.” This was reported by the Provincial Secretary of the Brothers of Italy, Trieste
