Just a few more hours, the deadline is set for 8pm this evening, and the lists with all the candidates for the European elections, whose vote is scheduled for 8 and 9 June, will have to be deposited. Games are therefore practically closed for parties and candidates who, some already in recent days, have presented their lists. Below are those relating to the Sicily-Sardinia Islands district.

Freedom-Cateno De Luca

The leader of the South calls North and current mayor of Taormina Cateno De Luca is the frontrunner in the Islands of “Freedom” constituency, the list filed in the Court of Appeal in Palermo for the European elections of 8 and 9 June. Behind De Luca the national spokesperson of the movement and former parliamentarian Laura Castelli, the justice witness Piera Aiello, also a former parliamentarian, Edy Bandiera, Giulia Ferro, Barbara Figus, the current vice president of the regional anti-mafia commission Ismaele La Vardera and Antonio Giuseppe Parrinello.

The list of the Democratic Party for the Islands constituency sees the national secretary of the party Elly Schlein as the head of the list, followed by the deputy group leader in the Senate Antonio Nicita, the journalist Lidia Tilotta, the outgoing MEP Pietro Bartolo, the Sardinian Angela Quaquero, the city councilor in Palermo and former PD group leader at Ars Giuseppe Lupo, the former Messina parliamentarian Maria Flavia Timbro and Giuseppe Belvisi, teacher and expert on European funds for the environment.

For the Insular Italy constituency, which includes Sicily and Sardinia, the leader will be Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. They follow in order: Salvatore Deidda (member of the Chamber and president of the Transport Commission), Elvira Amata (councilor of the Sicilian Region for Tourism), Massimiliano Giammusso (mayor of Gravina di Catania and regional vice president of the ANCI), Giuseppe Milazzo (MEP outgoing), Ruggero Razza (former councilor of the Sicilian Region for Health), Giusi Savarino (regional deputy in the third legislature) and Alessia Scorpo (entrepreneur from the Aretusea area).

The Forza Italia list for the “Islands” constituency sees the outgoing Caterina Chinnici as the head of the list. Followed by Michele Cossa, the former mayor of the city of Lula Maddalena Calia, the Sicilian coordinator of Noi Moderati Massimo Dell’Utri, the regional councilor for the Economy Marco Falcone, the regional deputy and mayor of Capri Leone Bernardette Grasso, the regional deputy and mayor of Montevago Margherita La Rocca Ruvolo and finally the regional councilor for productive activities Edy Tamajo.

LEAGUE

The League’s candidates are the leaders Annalisa Tardino, Roberto Vannacci, Ester Bonafede, Nino Germanà, Michelina Lunesu, Francesca Reitano, Raffaele Stancanelli and Girolamo Turano.

M5S

There are six Sicilian candidates in the next European elections for the M5S Islands constituency. Heading the list will be the former president of the Nebrodi Park, who escaped a mafia ambush, Giuseppe Antoci, then Patrizio Cinque, Antonella Di Prima, Virginia Farruggia, Antonino Randazzo and Matilde Montaudo. They are joined by the two Sardinians: Cinzia Pilo and Matteo Porcu.

United States of Europe

The former radical parliamentarian and prisoners’ rights activist Rita Bernardini is the leader of the United States of Europe in the next European elections on 8 and 9 June in the Islands constituency. In second place the president of the Gal Nebrodi Francesco Calanna, followed by the former rector of Palermo Fabrizio Micari and Valentina Falletta, in the Italia viva quota, by Luca Ballatore of the Psi, by Pierina Puzzolu (Psi Sardinia) and by Carola Politi of + Europa . IV leader Matteo Renzi closes the list.

ACTION with Calenda

In the Islands for Action, Carlo Calenda will be at the top followed by Sonia Alfano, Gianfranco Damiani, Marina Benoni, Giangiacomo Palazzolo (former mayor of Cinisi and member of the Presidency Council of Administrative Justice), Rosanna Cocomero, Nicola Trudu, and the former minister for equal opportunities and the Elena Bonetti family.

Alleanza Verdi Sinistra has filed the list for the Islands constituency (Sicily and Sardinia) for the European elections on 8 and 9 June at the Court of Appeal in Palermo. The head of the list is the former mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando followed by the activist Ilaria Salis, currently detained in prison in Hungary. In third place the former mayor of Riace Mimmo Lucano, followed by Cinzia Dato, Emanuele Barbara, Giuliana Fiertler, Francesco Muscau and Stefania Pagliazzo.

Peace Earth Dignity

The candidates of Pace Terra Dignità are the leaders Michele Santoro, Benedetta Sebene, followed by the 93-year-old journalist Raniero Luigi La Valle, Federica Baccoli, Ginevra Roberta Bompiani, Giovanni Fresu, Antonino Mantineo and Elisa Monni.
