At San Carlo in Potenza, organs were removed from a 44-year-old from Basilicata

POTENZA – Last night, after brain death was confirmed, multi-organ harvesting procedures were carried out in the San Carlo hospital in Potenza on a 44-year-old young man from Basilicata, who died following a serious cerebral hemorrhage. The company management of Aor San Carlo reports this and, in the words of the general director Giuseppe Spera, entrusts a message of condolence and heartfelt thanks to the family who «in a moment of suffering and difficulty due to the passing of a family member, found strength in altruism and love of life, making it possible for other people to have a better existence. In such difficult moments, the very sense of humanity is found, strengthened, as in this case, by the lively presence in our community of a young man known for his generosity and sense of self-sacrifice even in the world of associations, whose strength and passion has never been he would have liked to give up.”

To the thanks for the family, the general director adds «the recognition to those who worked towards the excellent success of the operations, from the two medical teams of the San Camillo hospital in Rome, to the corporate transplant coordination and to the regional transplant center for the tissue typing procedure , to the doctors and healthcare workers of the Intensive Care Unit and of the Potenza operating group, up to the drivers and the 118 air ambulance who ensure the transport of doctors and organs removed in absolute timely manner and ensuring complete compliance with the safety procedures”.
