Lucca Sicula, Villafranca and Burgio welcome the “Giovaniinfesta2024”

From Lucca Sicula, with the welcome moment and the initial prayer, the Giovaninfesta 2024 begins. Despite the rain and fog, thousands of young people from all the parishes of the Diocese of Agrigento are participating in the annual gathering; the gathering will take place, in an itinerant form, in the municipalities of Villafranca Sicula, Burgio and Lucca Sicula. “Although close, our realities are very distinct – they say Don Davide La Corte and Don Salvatore Ingoglia of the Pastoral Unit of Burgio and Villafranca Sicula –, everyone has their identity, their history and their culture. These characteristics were put together to become the soul of Giovaninfesta 2024. We formed a team made up of representatives from each single municipality and, thanks to the coordination of the diocesan team of the Center for Evangelization, diversity and what might seem like obstacles they have become enriching and stimulating ingredients for a perfect collaboration. The boys – Don Davide and Don Salvatore continue – they prepared everything with great passion to celebrate together with the young people who arrived from all over the Agrigento area”.
