A football love manual that cannot be missing from the Torresino doc’s library.
Stefano Udassi president of Torres: “Talking about Torres is always exciting for me. I am honored to be part of the history of this team but now the present counts. In this beautiful new room it is truly exciting to talk about this book. I start from the dream of these kids, the kids from Abinsula, who managed to realize what they promised themselves when they studied at University: one day we will take Torres“.
The book was presented yesterday afternoon in the spaces of the brand new Hospitality located inside the “Vanni Sanna” stadium in the presence of the rossoblù president Stefano Udassi, of Pierluigi Pinna (General Director of Abinsula and Torres), of the publisher Carlo Delfino, of the sports councilor of the Municipality of Sassari and the author Giovanni Tola, a talented writer called to tell the story of the genesis, background and sensations contained in each chapter.
Sports councilor Arru: “For me it is important to experience this moment of the city team. We too as an Administration have experienced the journey of these kids and now we have a beautiful stadium and a team that is making a city dream. Thank you all“.
Pierluigi Pinna of the Abinsula property “We have written the story of the last three years but we have had this dream since we all studied together in Cagliari and we played football with a team we called Acquedotto… We succeeded. We wanted to give our corporate slant to the project. There are many engineers working for Torres, which is probably a unique case. We have entrusted the presidency to Stefano Udassi, we don’t like being on the front line but sharing the moment. You know the story of these years, we often had to rush but we managed to do everything we wanted. Now we are here to enjoy this year that isn’t over yet. A year of nine and a half, we have to win the half point in the playoffs“.
The publisher Carlo Delfino has the message from the mayor of Sassari Nanni Campus, already present in the introduction of the book. Then adding that “Torres is an asset of the city of Sassari and of all of us. Giovanni Tola has perfectly concentrated the meaning of 120 years of Torres history in 94 pages“.
The author, Giovanni Tola: “The history of Torres is a great story, more so than other teams that perhaps played in Serie A or Serie B. When Sef Torres was born it was at the forefront throughout Italy and an example for many at a sporting level. Torres had a fundamental role for the spread of sport in Sardinia and beyond. The book traces the history from the first match played in 1903 up to the present day, born as a physical education club and finds itself playing in all regions of Italy. Now there is a new enthusiasm, a new awareness also on the part of the fans: this is a new era which we hope will give us great satisfaction“.
