Catanzaro – Reflections, focus on the problems and future prospects of work in Calabria. The May Day celebration is an opportunity to rekindle the debate on one of the age-old problems that plagues our Region: the search for work and its precariousness. In fact, there were various interventions by representatives of the political, institutional and trade union world, all aimed at enhancing the right to work.
Occhiuto: “Work is freedom, a special thought for those who don’t have it”
”Happy Labor Day to all workers. Happy May 1st to the Calabrians who every day, with commitment and passion, contribute to the development of our beautiful and difficult Region, and to those who have had to abandon their homeland for work. A special thought to those who don’t have work and are desperately looking for it, to those who would like an opportunity, to those who work with perseverance and self-sacrifice to build a better future. Work – as the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, recalled yesterday during his visit to Calabria – is freedom. First of all, freedom from need, and a tool to express oneself, to realize oneself in life. It is the task of each of us to promote the best conditions to make this freedom possible and to guarantee this right.” Thus Roberto Occhiuto, president of the Calabria Region and deputy national secretary of Forza Italia.
Mancuso: “Promote development and employment, especially in the regions of Southern Italy”
