The Municipality of Aversa has issued an extraordinary ordinance in view of the “10 Miglia Normanna” foot race, scheduled for May 5, 2024. The ordinance, signed by the municipal police commander Stefano Guarino, establishes traffic restrictions in order to guarantee the safe conduct of the sporting event. The request for authorization for the race was presented by the “ASD Podistica Normanna” Association and obtained the patronage of the Municipality of Aversa.
The race route will wind along various streets of the city, starting from Via Salvo D’Acquisto and ending in Via S. Acquisto, for a total of 16 km. To allow the event to take place, a total ban on vehicular traffic in the streets involved has been ordered from 7:00 to 11:30 on the day of the race. A limited traffic zone will also be introduced in the entire area involved, with an exception for vehicles serving the event.
The race involves a structured course along a route as specified below: Via Salvo D’Acquisto (start) – Via L. Giordano – Viale degli Artisti – Via Vito di Jasi – Via A. Garofalo – Viale Kennedy – Via Diaz – Via Corcioni – Via Cilea – Via Verdi – Via F. Saporito – Via Roma – Via Vito di Jasi – Via delle Acacie – Via Giotto – Via Belvedere – Via Costantinopoli – Via Magenta – Via O. Marchione – Via Guitmondo – Via L. Pastore – section interesting is the Municipality of Lusciano – Via Linguiti – Via Santa Lucia – Via Dell’Olmo – Via Porta San Giovanni – Via Canduglia – Via Adige – Via Dragonetti – Via S. Di Giacomo – Via A. D’Aragona – Via F. Saporito – Via Roma – Via Belvedere – Via S. Acquisto (arrival).
Furthermore, a parking ban was imposed with the possibility of forced removal in certain streets during the race time, namely: via Corcioni, right side, south-north direction of travel, for the entire extension; via Giuseppe Verdi, right side, east-west direction, for the entire extension; via Costantinopoli, for the entire extension.
