In Sicily there are 2 billion blocked and Schifani lashes out at the leaders of the Region

“I consider the blocking, in some departments of the Region, of two billion euros unacceptable and this despite the fact that the government and Parliament have done their part by approving the financial maneuver within the terms of the law, as has not happened for fifteen years. Even today, some payments have not been paid to regional businesses and employees due to the slowness of certain bureaucracy. I will bring the measure to the Council next Friday, with the hearing of the general managers responsible for these delays to hear their justifications and also evaluate possible measures should this delay continue. We cannot avoid guaranteeing citizens, businesses and those who work the right to be paid by the public administration. I do not intend to tolerate this way of operating, the Region must change on this aspect and everyone must assume their own responsibilities”. The president of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, said this to Tgr Rai Sicilia, regarding the delay of some offices in the reassessment of active residues amounting to around two billion euros.
