Piazza del Popolo in Latina becomes a limited traffic zone, indeed it partially reopens to traffic, but without a cycle path. In fact, you can leave the cycle path, but it goes somewhere else, or rather there is a car park there, but yes, let’s put in a pedestrian crossing too.
There is something that is not going as it should in Latina, where the Celentano administration has intended to follow up on the agreements made with traders in the heart of the city by establishing some car parks on the side of Piazza del Popolo in front of the Finance Authority. Except that then the signage company also built the cycle path, which wasn’t planned, in fact the intention was to cancel the cycle ring.
In recent days, however, the ground signs have been completed and the “zebras” have been designed for the pedestrian crossing above the cycle path.
Now: it’s certainly not the mayor’s fault, nor the councilor’s. But there are three things: either the company in charge of the signs is receiving wrong and contradictory information, or there are errors that the technicians do not check. Or, and this is the third hypothesis, there are two different companies that are carrying out the work and have two different projects in hand.
In any case, money is being spent unnecessarily and it is making a terrible impression on the city, demonstrating schizophrenia and unclear ideas. Unless there is a concrete project that, at least for the moment, escapes.
