Abruzzo weather forecast Wednesday 1st May

Cloudiness over much of Abruzzo: from inland and mountainous areas, where scattered rainfall, locally thunderstorms, is expected, extending towards the Adriatic sector, especially in the second part of the day

SITUATION: our peninsula continues to be affected by a high pressure promontory of North African origin which, in the
Monday, favored stable and predominantly sunny weather conditions across most of the central-southern regions and on the Adriatic side, with temperatures returning above seasonal averages again. The good weather will continue in the centre-south in the coming months too, in particular on the Adriatic side. Instead, a new Atlantic disturbance has brought a gradual increase in instability along the Apennine ridge, in particular on the Umbria-Marche Apennines and on the Abruzzo mountains. Today the disturbance crosses our peninsula and will be more active in the Tyrrhenian sector and in the internal areas of our regions, although rainfall may also affect the Adriatic sector in the afternoon and late afternoon, with showers and possible thunderstorms. Subsequently, as anticipated in previous updates, Atlantic currents will continue to reach our peninsula where, consequently, instability will intensify again and temperatures will progressively decrease, at least until Saturday.

FORECAST: In our region the cloudiness will tend to further intensify starting from the internal and mountainous areas, where scattered precipitations, locally thunderstorms, are expected, extending towards the Adriatic sector, especially in the second part of the day.

Temperatures: Increasing, especially in the maximum values.

Winds: Weak from the eastern or south-eastern quadrants.

Sea: Slightly rough in the morning with swell in the afternoon.
