Lucca’s boxing club is also preparing to welcome, in its own way, the arrival of the Giro d’Italia in Lucca, with a boxing event which, taking up the color of the famous shirt, will be almost completely pink.
However, the activity at the headquarters in the former Campo di Marte hospital will begin on Saturday 4 May, with a day of Sparring Io, the controlled contact discipline for kids who are preparing for the transition from the youth sector to that of Olympic boxing. In addition to the numerous athletes from Lucca, many very young boxers will flock from all over Tuscany to try their hand at the ring in Via Nicola Barbantini.
The women’s boxing event, which will also include some men’s matches, will start on Sunday 5 May. During the 13 scheduled matches it will be possible to see three athletes from Lucca fight in the home ring. The unscheduled match between Abd Almottalib Loutfi (Junior 50kg) and Abed Rabbo Fares (ASD Valenzana Pietro Valdini) will open the proceedings. Then it will be Marisa Losha’s turn (Youth 53kg) against Yelena Varese (Team Moschitta). Finally, for the home team, Giada Carlotti (elite 63kg) will also return to the ring, crossing gloves with Zinaida Ghinda (Ring Adora Boxe).
However, next weekend’s Lucchese Boxing activity will not remain exclusively at home, with three other boxers who will travel to Asti on Saturday 4 May for the Piedmont-Tuscany inter-regional match. It will therefore be up to Riccardo Colombini (Junior 48kg) to defend the colors of our region and Lucca against Adrian Stoian (Boxe Verbania). With him there will also be Federico Inguaggiato (Junior 48kg), engaged on this occasion against Luca Rizzi (Boxe Verbania). Closing the list of athletes from Lucca is Akram Mehlaoui (Youth 60kg), who will face Khalid Abouzine (Boxe Canavesana).
