Ancona, 1 May 2024 – G7 Health, green light for urgent works to fix the access road to Portonovo bay hey parking lots main.
This was decided yesterday by the council meeting in an extraordinary session (despite the absence of the mayor) which saw the departments of public works and tourism as protagonists. A race against time to avoid causing inconvenience to the bathing season which officially starts in the middle of the month. To the Portonovo worksan excerpt from the first batch, was given absolute priority.
The construction sites will be erected in a few days and the works should begin on May 10th and continue no later than the first half of June. Beyond that date there would be trouble and protests from commercial operators and swimmers themselves.
Meanwhile, yesterday morning the approval for the technical-economic feasibility project for the extraordinary maintenance works for the G7 health, for the Lago Grande car park and the La Torre car park and securing the Portonovo road which connects the roundabout upstream with the small square in the bay.
As regards the intervention, for the road the entire wear mat will be redone while for the car parks some arrangements will be made with stabilized grit material; the access part to parking lots will be arranged with a dustproof finish using material authorized by the Conero park.
The works will be carried out from the first half of May, some even at night so as not to interfere with the use of the bay. The G7 Health will take place from 9 to 11 October 2024 and for extraordinary maintenance interventions on some city roads the Marche Region had assigned an extraordinary contribution of 2 million euros to the Municipality of Ancona.
Once the company that will carry out the works has already been identified, the overall cost is approximately 398 thousand euros. From May, practically from today, and then every Saturday and Sunday, the shuttles will be active from the upstream car park to the bay, from 8am to 8pm, every 20 minutes.
In addition to the lot dedicated to Portonovo, which needs to be tidied up because part of the international delegations will stay in the hotels in the bay, there are three others.
The works concern the extraordinary maintenance of the asphalts of Via Marconi, including the roundabouts of Piazzale Italia and the San Martino gallery, Via XXIX Settembre, Lungomare Vanvitelli and the upper part of Via Conca a Torrette, and the area of Piazza della Repubblica.
Interventions are also planned, in this case subsidized by the Port Authority, for the arrangement of theMandracchio area, but also towards the Lazaretto.
Particularly the two bridges main access points given that the Mole Vanvitelliana will host the work of the G7 Health.
