Race to complete the fittings

Yesterday morning the work in the squares involved was still in full swing. A real race to complete the installations in time for the ribbon cutting in via San Lorenzo by the mayor Frontini and the architect Raffaele Ascenzi, winner of the ideas competition together with his team of designers. We are waiting to see what style the “creator of Machines” will have given to this edition of San Pellegrino in fiore which should mark the rebirth of a spring event that has made the history of the city of the popes. Much has already been revealed, both by Ascenzi himself in a press conference and in recent days during a tour organized by the administration together with journalists.

It’s the day of San Pellegrino in fiore

Many noticed the two-dimensionality of the displays, all on the ground. Furthermore, from what we saw in the renderings shown by Ascenzi, the flowers, while remaining the protagonists of the event, will probably be in smaller quantities than usual. A choice that could shock the public or even win them over. The underlying theme of the event will however be the Middle Ages.
Each square will host faithful reproductions of the typical gardens of the monasteries of the medieval period. The company Pugliesi Vivai srl of Vignanello and Daniel Plants of Viterbo will take care of the arrangements, for a total sum of almost 130 thousand euros. There are many collateral events: exhibitions, art and craft markets, tastings, theatrical performances, workshops for children, flag-waving performances. The event will end next Sunday.
