Rome, a new interchange car park inaugurated in Annibaliano

Rome, 30 April 2024 – This morning the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieritogether with the Mobility Councillor, Eugenio Patanèand to the President of the Second Municipality, Francesca Del Belloinaugurated the Annibaliano interchange car park, near the station of the same name on Line B1.

The car park is built in a multi-storey structure on three underground levels, with a total availability of 268 parking spaces, 6 of which are reserved for disabled people. There are also 16 stalls for mopeds. The vehicular access to the car park is provided from Via Spalato, while the vehicular exit is located on Corso Trieste. There is a direct connection between the car park and the Ipogea square of the metro station on the -3 floor.

The construction of the car park was entrusted by the Sustainable Mobility and Transport Department of Roma Capitale to Rome Mobility Services and the management of the service was entrusted to Atac as part of the Service Contract

The operating hours of the car park, similarly to the other interchange car parks in the structure, are as follows: from Sunday to Thursday; opening from 05.15 to 00.15; Friday and Saturday: opening from 05.15 to 02.15. The tariff plan envisaged by Roma Capitale for interchange car parks within the railway ring is as follows: €2.00 for the first 12 hours of consecutive parking; €3.00 for up to 16 consecutive hours of parking. Public transport season ticket holders and other categories exempt from paying for paid parking will be able to use the parking for free.

“We are finally putting an end to another unfinished story in this city that has dragged on for years, bringing with it neglect and decay” explained the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri. “The interchange car parks – he continued – are crucial in encouraging the use of public transport and for this reason we are constantly working to guarantee thousands of additional parking spaces to Roman men and women, starting from the TPL junctions but also in the rest of the city. We inaugurated the car park in Piazza Conca d’Oro a few weeks ago, today we are opening Piazza Annibaliano, the construction sites of those in Piazzale della Radio and Lungotevere Arnaldo da Brescia have started, and the Cornelia car park will also be opened by the end of the council period”.

“After the opening of the Conca D’Oro car park – commented theMobility Councilor Eugenio Patanè – we are providing Roman citizens and commuters with another important interchange car park with almost 300 parking spaces which will be fundamental for that quadrant and to encourage the use of public transport and intermodal travel. The Conca d’Oro and Annibaliano car parks are part of the broader program launched by our administration aimed at the valorisation and recovery of parking areas, a strategic driving force for the entire city mobility system”.
