The Provincial Carabinieri Command of Agrigento, as part of its constant commitment to the safety of citizens, has arranged an extraordinary territorial control service in the Municipalities of Agrigento and Porto Empedocle. The service, still ongoing, has the aim of preventing and combating all forms of crime. The operation, conducted by the military from the Carabinieri Company of Agrigento, sees the use of a security device made up of numerous soldiers, divided into ten self-mounted patrols, also in civilian clothes. The patrols, reinforced by dog units from the Carabinieri Dog Unit of Palermo, will guard the most sensitive areas of the two Municipalities, with particular attention to the areas already the scene of recent episodes of damage. The service includes, among other things: checks on road traffic, public establishments, with particular attention to the sale of alcohol to minors, the fight against the phenomenon of illegal parking, predatory crimes and drug dealing. The Carabinieri are busy checking people, documents and vehicles, using breathalyzers to combat driving under the influence of alcohol. All patrols are equipped with high visibility devices to ensure maximum safety during road checks.
