“Carrara peasant” by Maurizio Barattini is the protagonist book of the second event of “Carrara tells its story”, the cycle of presentations of books dedicated to the culture of the territory, published by SEA, Società Editrice Apuana. Friday 3 May at 6.30 pm, at Palazzo Cucchiari we will talk about the Carrara of the plan, the one that has remained simplest and therefore more authentic, linked to the life of the fields, clinging to the roots of the earth, face to face with nature. It is bucolic Carrara, made of sun and rain, of sowing and harvesting, of sweat and poverty. The volume will be presented by the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality and Gualtiero Magnani, with readings by the actors of the theater companies A Ufo and Evasi.
The literary review is organized by the Municipality with the collaboration of the Giorgio Conti Foundation and the Accademia Albericiana of Carrara. Entrance is free.
This is the calendar of the next meetings: Friday 10 May at 6.30 pm, again at Palazzo Cucchiari, Cristina Andrei together with Gualtiero Magnani and Daniele Canali will illustrate the new edition of “Rileggiamo Carrara” by Terzano Renato Pom.
The meeting hosted by Chiara Bertani and Carla Breschi, author of the “Bei mé tempi” trilogy, is scheduled for Friday 17 May at 3.30pm at the “Regina Elena” retirement home.
On May 24th, at 6.30 pm, in the rooms of the Eastern Ligurian Sea Port System Authority in Marina di Carrara, we will talk about the two books “Marina di Carrara. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” by Giorgio Bogazzi and “Memories of the old Marina” by Giovanni Nino Telara, in the presence of Daniele Canali and Mario Sommariva.
The event closes on Friday 31 May, at 6.30 pm, at the Ridotto del Teatro degli Animosi “Carrara a table”, with Alma Vittoria Cordiviola, Alvise Lazzareschi and Filippo Tenderini, introduced by Cristina Andrei.
