Tennis, the youth team championships continue for the Cus Ferrara teams

Yet another weekend of competitions for Cus Ferrara tennis which saw its athletes engaged in the continuation of the final stages of the youth championships and the debut in the D series championships.

In addition to the valuable results of the under 14 and 16 teams of Salvi’s Cus, the Under 12 girls gave an excellent performance in the direct elimination brackets, winning 3-0 against Tc Albinea in the first valid match of the second group phase .

Coach Ferdinando De Luca fielded Allegra Arpi and Viola Accorsi in the two singles matches which turned out to be winners. Their performances were very positive in two matches that were not easy on paper, which saw the young players from Ferrara prevail after more than two hours of play. At 2-0, the doubles match featured Ada Bianconi teaming with Viola Accorsi for the final 3-0, obtaining victory only in the final tiebreaker of the third set.

In the men’s Under 12, narrow defeat away to Mirandola 2-1. The point was obtained in doubles by the pair Mattia Bruni and Christian Curti, while the defeats came from the same in the two singles played.

The under 10 team could do nothing against the strong Tc Fidenza team, losing 3-0 at home, but still demonstrating that they can be very competitive at a regional level. The defeats came at the hands of Sara Gavagna and Carlo La Malfa in the singles and Michele Catalano together with La Malfa in the doubles.

In the debut women’s D3 series, an easy success for the Cussina team on the Tc Cento courts, with victories for Carlotta and Matilde Ascanelli in the singles and doubles.

The debut of the men’s D1 was bitter, defeated on their own pitches 3-2 by Tc Modena. Victory for Filippo Zattoni in singles and doubles paired with Paolo Cavagna. The defeats came from the very young Under 13s Tommaso Caniato and Andrea Picariello, in their very first appearance in a team competition with adults and from the Under 18 Cavagna.
