Arda Güler gave an interview to Kafa Sports, in which he analyzed his first season at Real Madrid and his relationship with Ancelotti: “Being a Real Madrid player is a very beautiful thing. PSG, Bayern, Barcelona, Inter, Milan were looking for you… why did you choose Madrid?
“When my father called me and told me that Real Madrid was interested, I was excited, I was very happy. From an early age, many children dream of playing for Madrid, the biggest club in the world. They are like a family and I they proposed a long-term project. As soon as we sat down at the table, we quickly decided. Real Madrid told me that Modric would help me: I was very impressed, because he is an incredible player and he is still very important as much as I can.”
Do you think you’ve played enough so far?
“We would all like to always be on the pitch from the first minute to the 90th minute. But there are some aspects in the philosophy of this club… They are preparing many young players intensely, so I don’t feel sad when I don’t play. I do everything possible to play as many minutes possible. Ancelotti and I talk a lot and we did so even before signing: he told me what plans he had with me. This was one of the reasons why I came here: he offered me a realistic project, he said I would play when he would have thought I was ready. He told me that at the end of the championship I will have more opportunities, I believe in him. We talk to him a lot, I ask him what I can do to play more, how I can improve He advises me, I have to be patient.”
