Fiorentina and Turin within friendly walls

Verona, who emerged defeated from the match at the Olimpico against Lazio, was once again a two-faced team. The first half played by the gialloblù almost bordered on perfection. Short, compact, organized team with the right amount of intensity and aggression. Capable of nipping the Biancocelesti’s initiatives almost in the bud, reducing any risk to a minimum. Ready to restart and put the Lazio rearguard in difficulty, should the opportunity arise. In the second half, however, Baroni’s team almost seemed like a bad copy of the one seen, and in some ways admired, in the first forty-five minutes. The team of former Gialloblù coach Igor Tudor, thanks also to the additions of Zaccagni and Pedro, has definitely changed gear, taking over and rewriting the score of the match. And Verona? Lazovic & co. they lost the distances between the departments, offering their side to the biancoceleste reaction. Furthermore, some individual and specific errors were seen
it was on one of these that the action that condemned Hellas to defeat was born. Nonetheless, Udinese’s draw and the defeats of Empoli, Sassuolo and Cagliari left the situation practically unchanged. There will be more suffering. It was known.
DUDA AND SUSLOV STEP BACK
Almost immovable starters in Marco Baroni’s yellow-blue team, in the last two matches against Udinese and Lazio, both Suslov and Duda started from the bench, only coming on in the second part of the match. But while with the Friulian Bianconeri their arrival on the pitch had sent a positive shock, on Saturday evening the exact opposite happened. Duda’s presence went almost unnoticed while Suslov became a negative protagonist with his mistake. Baroni’s choice to start them from the bench is certainly not accidental. Verona, however, needs the decisive contribution of the two Slovakian players to achieve their goal. Starting from the next match against Fiorentina.
RIGHT BAND WEAK SIDE
On Saturday evening, from the first minutes of the game, Lazio found fertile ground on the left wing where Tchatchoua, who isn’t really a defender, had little or no support in the doubles from Mitrovic, and struggled extremely to contain the Biancocelesti’s incursions. Unlike what happened, however, on the opposite lane where Lazovic, sacrificing himself in coverage, was decisive together with Cabal in offering adequate opposition. In the second half the entry of Zaccagni worsened the situation so much so that the winning percussion was born from that side, albeit due to an error by Suslov. With hindsight, perhaps, even if the proof does not exist, the use of Centonze could have made a different contribution in the defensive phase.
APPOINTMENT AT BENTEGODI
Once the defeat is over, we need to look forward. There are four games left at the end of the tournament. Three of these, however, will be played within the walls of the Bentegodi where we know well how the presence of the warm and passionate yellow-blue public represents the real added value. With the exception of the last match against Inter, where the hope is to have already concluded the salvation procedure, the gialloblù will play everything in the home matches against Fiorentina and Turin and in the subsequent away match at the home of a Salernitana team already relegated but, probably, willing to sell their skin dearly. However, getting at least four points in the next two races could bring the goal much closer. It’s okay to try.
