At home in Bologna, writes the Corriere dello Sport, market discussions have already begun in view of next year when, barring any twists in this final, the rossoblù will take part in the new Champions League. One of the thoughts of the management, we read, concerns Alexis Saelemaekersa Belgian who arrived last year from Milan on a loan with the right to buy.
In the first part of the season his redemption at the end of the year seemed uncertain, thanks to some subpar performances and a rather evident lack of continuity in general. Now, however, the situation has been reversed, with the player strongly desired by Thiago Motta who is convincing everyone within a Bologna Champions League team and who could therefore extend his stay at Dall’Ara.
To keep him at the end of the championship, Sartori and Di Vaio will have to put on the table the approximately 10 million euros agreed with Milan a year ago: an important figure for Bologna’s coffers, but which appears in line with the real value of the player. In 26 league appearances this year, Saelemaekers has put together a total of 26 appearances with 4 goals and 3 assists, numbers that are often decisive for the fate of individual matches.
