It’s over. Relegation to Eccellenza has become reality for Fano. A real nightmare that has materialized. Fano really did everything to avoid it, the players put their heart and soul into it against Avezzano too, but it wasn’t enough to at least reach the play out. The Abruzzo team won 2-0.
In the first half, Manoni’s team had a few opportunities to score: a header by Mancini, on which goalkeeper Brusca performed a miracle and another header by Riggioni, which went wide. But in the middle, in the 29th minute, Avezzano’s goal arrived with a touch in front of goal by the former Ferrani player, who beat Guerrieri and made it 1-0. Fano didn’t give up and fought, but even the crossbar at the end denied Pierfederici, whose shot was well executed.
