First and second place for the two players from Messina at the Italian checkers world championship, held in Rome from April 20th to 28th. Damiano Sciuto deservedly won first place, while Michele Maijnelli consolidates Messina’s dominance in second place in the world championship of one of the most famous board games of all. Mayor Federico Basilethe Sports councilor Massimo Finocchiaro and the general director of the Municipality Salvo Puccio, met the two champions this afternoon at Palazzo Zanca to congratulate them on the flattering goal achieved.
