SACILE – It was found by the police The stolen painting in recent months in a company in Sacile. The work, an “Acrylic on canvas” by the Indonesian artist Arkiv Vilmans, is worth 6 thousand euros. A 31-year-old architect, former collaborator of the Sacile company, reported for the theft of cultural assets, furtively took possession of it.

What happened

What raised eyebrows and therefore suspicions towards him among the police was the tormented closure of the working relationship between the young man and the company. A conclusion that also brought with it litigation. The company itself contacted the police after discovering the stolen work. Having carried out an inspection of the place of disappearance, the military had not noticed any signs of forced entry into doors or frames. So nothing that could suggest the break-in of a stranger. Indeed, the one who carried out the coup could only have been someone who was aware of the presence of that work, of its value and above all was available to have a copy of the keys. Having thus concentrated the investigations in this direction, the carabinieri, after having listened to the company staff, directed their attention to the company’s former collaborator. The search requested by the Pordenone Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the suspicions: the work of art was found in the home of the professional, resident in the province of Treviso, and has now been returned to its rightful owner.
