Maignan and Loftus-Cheek’s injuries turned out to be less serious than expected: here’s how long they’ll be out and their return to action
The Milan again with bated breath, even if for a short while. The injury nightmare has returned to the Rossoneri home, a sort of toll that the Rossoneri club has been paying since the beginning of the season. There are so many muscular problems for the Milan players, so much so that they end up in the eye of the storm Stefano Pioli and physical preparation during the pre-season.
The coach has often lived in the most total emergency, due to a determination that would have put anyone in difficulty, even more experienced coaches and more equipped squads. Between November and December he had to make a virtue of necessity in defense, with a very long series of injuries that forced Pioli to adopt even imaginative emergency measures, forcing Theo Hernandez to act at the center and draw heavily from Spring.
Many injuries, we were saying, and even in this final part of the season the coach will have to deal with other absences. Against Juve, the Rossoneri team had to suffer two injuries.

Mike Maignan didn’t even play the match, due to a problem suffered during the warm-up phase, while Loftus Cheek he came away injured during the race. Instrumental tests highlighted injuries to both players: the French goalkeeper suffered an injury to his right adductor muscle while the English midfielder was found to have an injury to his right hamstring.
Both problems, however, turned out to be low-grade. A nice sigh of relief, in short, for Stefano Pegs, considering that recovery times – according to Tuttosport – are to be estimated at two weeks. For the two players, therefore, no challenge to the Genoa scheduled for Sunday at 6pm and in all likelihood the two will also be out for the match on 11 May against Cagliari.
Their return seems certain for the match on May 19th against Torino, the penultimate match of the championship: it is not excluded, however, that the two will never return to the pitch considering how Milan no longer has anything to ask for in this championship and on the horizon there are the European football championships, where Maignan he will certainly be the protagonist.
The final decision will be up to the medical staff but also to the coach who will address the problem with the two players: it is possible that the championship for the two has already ended here.
