CATANZARO – “Tomorrow is Labor Day. If many companies in Calabria had greater sensitivity and did not resort to illegal and irregular work, we would probably have a more virtuous Calabria and we could, even in our Region, speak in different terms. The macroscopic unemployment figure is distorted precisely by the undeclared and irregular work which represents the real concern today, also a cultural problem that we are trying to attack and combat in order to give real, honest and regular work to Calabrian citizens. In this regard, today Arpal is formally born, Regional agency for active labor policies, which will be a new and fundamental tool, together with the strengthened Employment Centres, to support companies and build positive and stable work paths, with the correct use of the important financial resources assigned to the Labor Department for this purpose”.
He declared it the regional councilor for labor policies and professional training, Giovanni Calabrese, after the approval, upon his proposal, by the Council of the Calabria Region of the statute of Arpal Calabria. The Agency pursues the purposes established by Regional Law n. 25 of 28 June 2023, which dictates rules for the labor market, active policies and lifelong learning, and which promotes, consistently with the provisions of article 1 of Legislative Decree 150/2015, the regional network of services and employment policies, made up of Arpal and the regional employment centres.
Arpal Calabria is an instrumental body of the Region, endowed with legal personality under public law with organizational, accounting and management autonomy and takes over all active and passive relationships of Azienda Calabria Lavoro, maintaining, however, all institutional tasks. The regional agency it will also support Employment Centers in the provision of employment services and active policy measures connected to the functions and tasks of the Region. It will have tasks relating to work, training and lifelong learning entrusted to it by the Region. Among other things, with Arpal it will be possible to carry out work placement projects, using the institute of training and orientation internships, and also promote and support self-employment as ordinary and available measures for job activation and re-employment for the unemployed. ; promote the use of the dual training system in collaboration with companies and the promotion of dual training within professional education and training courses.
