Caleffi expands the factory in Maggiate Superiore, the district of Gattico-Veruno, a few steps from the state road 142 for Oleggio Castello, and when fully operational the expansion will lead to the hiring of 40-60 new employees.

After years of record turnover and a positive 2023, the heating and cooling systems company has started work on the Maggiate Superiore plant where around 180 employees are currently employed. A project that also has an important social impact because Caleffi has created a new car park available to all and a public park and a cycle path. The intervention, with its executive plan, was also approved by the city council. The works consisted of expanding the company area by 14,500 square metres: in this way new spaces were created for the assembly, plastic moulding, production and warehouse departments. Caleffi has long been an international leader in the production of components for heating, air conditioning and sanitary systems, heat metering systems and components for renewable energy systems, and has just returned from a series of years of constant and strong growth in turnover, in particular abroad and needs to extend the production area.

CEO Marco Caleffi explains: «We are faced with excellent results in recent years, above all thanks to the technological innovation to which we have given fundamental importance, and therefore there was the need for this expansion».

A leader on the market but also particularly attentive to sustainability, Caleffi has enriched the project with a series of interventions in favor of the community: a new cycle/pedestrian path with a surface area of 18 thousand square meters along the Roggia Molinara connected to a car park in via Maggiate, open to the public, and with the new car park in via Geola; furthermore the creation of a park that will extend from via Geola to via Maggiate.

As for the future, the CEO specifies that «for the Maggiate plant we do not know at the moment how many new hires there will be, but they will be there to deal with the strengthening of production. The first part of 2024 presents a calmer market trend, after the real boom that characterized the previous years. To date, the Italian market has responded better than other countries, probably because in recent years many works have been started that need to be completed. Other European markets, such as the French one and the German one in particular, are proving to be weaker. However, the United States market is doing well; also good in the Emirates and Arabia thanks to the construction of new cities with high energy standards”.
