Catanzaro, second appointment with the “Cineforum” created by the Sangitta collective

In Catanzaro, an appointment with history, through the “Cineforum” designed by student collective Sagitta, at the youth center in via Fontana Vecchia. The film screened today, The monuments man, wanted to retrace the historical resistance and post-war events. With the help of the Amica Sofia association, this series of events was created, all with a female theme, on what were important passages in the history and culture of our world.

The film screened in the afternoon had as its fundamental theme the importance of art which, during the Second World War, tried in every way to wipe out the various cultural heritages of the peoples invaded by the Nazis. In fact the film The Monuments man tells the story of soldiers, they called them Monuments Men. They were men, as brave as they were unlikely. A small platoon of bookworms, cultured and passionate, enlisted in the Allied army during the Second World War and sent to Europe in flames with a specific mission: to save the masterpieces of art. In fact, the history of European art during the war period suffered very serious thefts, especially France, in the meantime Italy was already securing its heritage thanks to the intervention of the Vatican city, which guarded the works during war.

The Sagitta collective is actively working with the aim of awakening the minds of students to art and culture, which is why they have created this series of cultural events open to all, with the hope of involving young minds in the reconstruction of the city through young minds who, if involved in the correct way, will be the future of our territory.
