Body painting at the hospital «Rummo». Future mothers who attend the have experienced it birth support course, in the Mother and Child Department on the second floor of the San Pio Pavilion. Here, with the support of various professionals – gynecologists, midwives, anesthesiologists and resuscitators, neonatologists, psychologists, nutritionists – it is possible to prepare to welcome your newborns, with awareness and serenity.
During the seventh meeting of the course, couples and midwives enjoyed body painting, an experience that has become very fashionable among pregnant women. The belly is painted and decorated with the designs they prefer or identify with. But body painting, underlines the hospital company, «is also a creative and intimate way to experience especially the last weeks of waiting. It allows you to massage the belly during pregnancy, because the brushstrokes are like caresses, not just movements to spread the colours.”
«The birth support course is not only a valid information tool for couples awaiting the arrival of a baby boy or girl – he states Maria Morgante, general director of the hospital – is also and above all a moment of sharing, a space in which to learn to welcome one’s emotions, experimenting with change. Painting the baby bump also serves to familiarize yourself with the belly itself and take an extra moment to perceive the baby’s movements. I thank all the doctors and healthcare personnel involved in this service and all the citizens who reward us with their trust.”
