80 years old and not hearing them. The first agricultural organization in Italy and Europe celebrates its first 80 years of history. And he will do it with one great provincial assembly scheduled Tuesday 30 April at 10.30 am at the Borsalino Cinema (Piazza Maggi) in Camaiore (Lu) to celebrate and relive the salient moments of trade union activity, from its birth in 1944 by Paolo Bonomi to the conquests for the agricultural world up to the new battles to protect business income, citizens’ health and the protection of Made in Italy. There will be 200 farmer members from the province of Lucca who will participate in the Coldiretti festival.
Yellow flags will be flying on all farms and banners will be displayed around Italy linked to requests against unfair imports, fake Made in Italy products or the request for an invasion plan which, especially in this historical period, can and must become a valid ally against climate change.
Many themes were at the center of the assembly: from the revision of the Common Agricultural Policy to the abolition of the customs code, from the collection of signatures to askAnd to the next EU parliament to make the origin label mandatory on all food at community level to the increase of controls in ports and borders up to the numerous European dossiers modified thanks to the work and coherence pressure of Coldiretti such as the regulation on packaging and the restoration of nature, to the use of pesticides which would have reduced by 30% agricultural production. And again the wildlife emergency which causes millions of euros of damage in the Tuscan countryside every year and represents a danger to road safety.
The assembly, opened by the provincial president of Coldiretti, Andrea Elmithey will intervene Francesca Buonagurelli (Provincial Manager of Coldiretti Women’s Business), Beatrice Well done (Coldiretti Young Enterprise Delegate), Andrea Verzanini (Area Secretary), Matteo Fazzi (Provincial Manager of Campagna Amica).
