BARI – Saturday 4 May, at 9pmgoes on stage at Teatroteam of Bari «Vlad Dracula. The musical», futuristic show – produced by WorkInMusical – centered on the character of Draculadiabolical vampire born from the pen of Bram Stoker in 1897. Undisputed protagonist of English literature of the late 19th century, inspired by the historical figure of the Prince of Wallachia Vlad III and endowed with great charm, Dracula not only does he represent the vampire par excellence but he is also one of the greatest incarnations of evil: he attracts and terrifies, seduces and kills. Protagonist of an infinite series of theatrical and cinematographic adaptations and an inexhaustible source of further literary works, which have made him famous throughout the world and immortal, just like his character.

«Vlad Dracula» arises from the will of Ario Avecone (“Murder Ballad”, “Amalfi 839AD”, “Rebellion”, “That’s love!”), director, author of the libretto, and of much of the music, of wanting to innovate Bram Stoker’s iconic tale and offer it a new perspective. The director, always attentive to researching new forms of theatrical language, makes use of the important collaboration of Manuela Scotto Pagliaraauthor of part of the lyrics and some original songs, and of Simone Martino (composer of “Rome Opera Musical”, “Beatrice Cenci”, “Christmas carol”, “St. Michael the Angel of the Apocalypse”, “The little Mermaid”). There Hollywood style soundtrack, written by Avecone himself, winks at the great film composers. The original songs elegantly cross many musical genres, from pop to rock, to modern ballad, without ever getting lost in useless virtuosity and allowing them, together with the music, to always be functional to the story.

The show is performed by a rich cast made up of George Adam (as Vlad Dracula), Arianna Bergamaschi, Marco Stabile, Beatrice Baldacciniand with Christian Ginepro as Van Helsing. They complete the cast Antonio Melissa, Valentina Naselli, Paolo Gatti, Jacopo Siccardi, Dario Guidi. Ensemble & Covers formed by Anna Gargiulo, Arianna Talé, Patrizia Marolla.

After the great success of the last season, the show returns with many new features: renewed and implemented scenography, new lights and special effects capable of making the theatrical experience even more immersive, new arrangements and the best cast of musical stars around.

The stage setup designed by Avecone and designed by Michele Lubrano Lavadera, and the use of lights Alessandro Caso, they are in a post-industrial style and evoke on the one hand the myths of filmography (such as Mad Max), on the other more recent films such as Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes orCrimson Peak”.

The attention to clothes and details, designed by Myriam Sommaare the result of personal and innovative research, based on the Victorian era, but contaminated with advanced technological fabrics and materials. The work is set in a “steampunk” world of the late 19th century, at the dawn of modern industrial development and the exploitation of new energy resources. At the exact moment in which a dangerous countdown began for man that leads up to the present day. The show also aims to be a way to raise awareness among spectators, making them aware that there is less and less time available. In this race against time, even an immortal character like Draculabecomes vulnerable and finds himself sharing a problem with mankind for the first time.

The whole show is a journey, beyond space and time, into the dualism of the human soul: good and evil, life and death, science and mystery. In a story where love, passion and music convey the emotions of the spectators. But who he really is Dracula? Who represents good and who represents evil? Are we really sure of our certainties?

«Vlad Dracula» is a new way of interpreting musical shows, which has convinced demanding audiences such as those of Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin with many sold outs and tens of thousands of enthusiastic spectators. It is a show revolutionary, innovative, visionary which redefines the musical genre, thanks to a modern, cinematic, true artistic language, in which all media (music, video, lights) blend into a new form of artistic expression, exciting and exciting for ages 6 to 90.

It is also an international show, which has already thrilled foreign distribution. Thanks to the collaboration with an important English production company, the export of the show to London is being planned for the 2025-2026 season, thus reversing the now consolidated flow in our country of importing musicals from abroad. It is therefore an important step forward for the affirmation of Italian creativity in the world also in this artistic genre.
