“I think you started from the roof without having the foundations. After demolishing the swimming pool, ask for a feasibility study regarding the skate park and if there are any constraints for not doing it. If the costs exceed those estimated by the administration, do you have a plan B?“
This is the question posed by councilor Maurizio Scaramuzza to the Administration on the skate park that will be set up at the former swimming pool in via Trento e Trieste in Savona and where, currently, the part in front of the swimming pool, where the atrium used to be, has been demolished , and the roof.
“For the via Trento and Trieste system – said the sports councilor Francesco Rossello – we have the Pnrr financing, with co-financing from the Municipality with an expected increase of 10% following an increase in costs. with this financing we foresee regeneration of the plant; there are no two phases. The demolition took place in the part where there was the atrium and changing rooms. That building has a monumental restriction and the Superintendency has forced us to demolish that body. The roof, which was unsafe, was demolished to be rebuilt. We are in line with the timetable and in recent weeks we have overcome a rather decisive obstacle because both for the demolished part and for the part that will be rebuilt, surveys were carried out to verify whether there were any archaeological finds that could have stopped the works. We can proceed and the next intervention will be to redo the plinths and the roof. During the design phase, the hypothesis of a skatepark was already drawn up but has not been designed in detail“.
The task entrusted is for the infrastructure of the skate track which, following an evaluation also carried out with the Italian roller sports federation, it was decided to structure so that it can also be used by people with disabilities.
“This – concluded Rossello – requires special planning. We are checking whether there is a willingness on the part of private sponsors to invest in that type of plant, because it will also have supra-regional importance“.
