Lamezia Terme – The “SPREAD” project (Preventive strategies to combat behavioral and abuse addictions), led by the Calabrian Solidarity Center Ets, comes to life with the training workshops: a complete and innovative initiative aimed at combating addictions among young people, involving the educational community and actively promoting prevention and well-being in the young generations in the 80 municipalities of the province of Catanzaro. The month of May will, in fact, be characterized by a series of training workshops aimed at raising awareness of social workers, parents, teachers, free citizens and other interested parties on the phenomenon of behavioral and substance addictions. The workshops will take place in the city of Catanzaro, at the “Maurizio Rossi” multipurpose center, and in the city of Lamezia Terme, at
The South Project Community. The workshops will provide information, experiences and case studies on the phenomenon of behavioral and substance addictions, aiming to strengthen the cognitive, socio-interpersonal, emotional and affective skills of the participants. Topics such as facing problems and making decisions, learning to learn, communicating effectively, collaborating, being assertive, managing conflicts and negotiating, showing empathy, preventing and managing distress, anger and aggression will be covered. The recipients of the workshops include operators from public and private drug addiction services, university students, sector specialists, teachers, volunteers from associations and class groups from lower and upper secondary schools.

10 May at the “Maurizio Rossi” Multipurpose Center, Catanzaro. Host: Dr. Gianfranco Merando. Topic: “Neuroscience, Substances and Addictions”.
May 15th at the Southern Community Project, Lamezia Terme. Presenter doctor Marisa Meduri. Topic: “Social and work inclusion: territorial community and labor market”.
May 23 at the “Maurizio Rossi” Multipurpose Center, Catanzaro. Presenter Dr. Claudio Falbo. Topic: “Psycho-social aspects in the addictions of young generations”.
31 May 2024 at the “Maurizio Rossi” Multipurpose Center, Catanzaro. Host: Dr. Francesco Pierà. Topic: “Programs and projects for the recovery of individuals with pathological addiction”.
The meetings will be held from 2.30pm to 7.30pm and will provide a valuable opportunity to gain crucial knowledge and skills in the prevention and treatment of addictions. We remind you that the project is financed by the Council of Ministers, Anti-Drug Policies Department for the 2022 year.
