great performance at the “Yano Trophy” in Macomer

Olbia. Kan Judo Olbia 1985, under the guidance of Master Angelo Calvisi, left its mark at the recent “Yano Trophy” held in Macomer, under the aegis of the Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Arts Martial Federation (FIJLKAM).

This event, dedicated to the male and female pre-competitive youth classes, saw the participation of 34 clubs and over 400 athletes from every corner of the region. The “Judo Team Angelo Calvisi” presented a team of 11 athletes, who demonstrated an impressive performance, taking home numerous medals.

The youth sector of the Olbia club has proven to be particularly large, with around 70 young judocas, aged 4 to 11, who have always represented the flagship of this sporting reality. The club has constantly forged its champions from its youth base, proving to be an indispensable nursery for this martial discipline. The young athletes from Olbia not only had fun during the competition, but also collected important medals.

Six gold medals were won by Roberto Morittu, Giorgia Deiana, Canu Nicolas, Pucci Alessandro, Varrucciu Alessandro and Pucci Leonardo, while three silvers were brought home by Azara Arianna, Arianna Brandanu and Vella Luigi. Furthermore, two bronze medals were won by Ariu Marta and Putzu Gioele. The commitment and determination shown by the athletes during the matches made Maestro Angelo Calvisi and his collaborator, Carta Gavino, proud. Not only the sporting results, but above all the exemplary behavior, characterized by correctness, fun and always a smile on the face, both in victories and in defeats, made the participation of the young judocas from Olbia in this competition special. A fundamental aspect in a sport that places great emphasis on loyalty and correctness from an early age.
