Margherita Scoccia, May Day, work and safety in Perugia

Margherita Scoccia, candidate for mayor of Perugia, places work at the heart of her electoral programme, focusing in particular on opportunities for young people and safety in the workplace. As part of the May Day celebrations, Scoccia reiterated her commitment to transforming the job market into a space of growth, security and dignity, distancing itself from precariousness and exploitation.

One of the candidate’s main objectives is to avoid brain drain, especially among young residents. Scoccia proposes incentive measures for entrepreneurs who hire under 30s, thus allowing young people to build a stable life in the city of Perugia. Her program also includes support for young people who move to Perugia for work, facilitating the search for accommodation and integrating regional policies to create a closer link between education and the job market.

Scoccia expressed his desire to establish an office dedicated to relations with universities and training institutes, with the aim of integrating the skills acquired during study courses with the needs of the world of work, in particular helping young NEETs (Non in Education, Employment, or Training) to find employment opportunities.

Furthermore, the candidate announced the project to develop a space in Fontivegge for research, development and small industrial production activities, thus promoting innovation and local economic growth.

Particular attention is paid to safety in the workplace, with Scoccia committed to combating the phenomenon of so-called “white deaths” and reducing accidents, especially on construction sites. The goal is to ensure a safe working environment for all citizens.

Scoccia is also dedicated to gender equality and the reintegration into work of women victims of violence, promoting initiatives aimed at restoring dignity and independence to these women through employment.

With these proposals, Margherita Scoccia aims to bring about a positive change for Perugia, making it a safer, fairer and more prosperous city, where young people can find concrete job opportunities and a better quality of life.
