Born in 1949 in Milan, Alberto Salerno is a lyricist and record producer, son of Nicola Salerno (aka NiSa). During his career he has written numerous songs for important artists on the Italian music scene, such as Zucchero, Mario Lavezzi, Marcella Bella, Mango. Alberto Salerno and Mara Maionchi got married in 1976. The well-known record producer is 10 years older than her husband and the age difference at the time was not frowned upon, as we read in the book written by Mapi Danna (Ti amo Also today): “Today everything has changed, but in 1976 toy-boys hadn’t yet been invented, not even milfs, and I felt out of place. It was my mother who unblocked me“. A year after getting married they became parents to Giulia, who is now 47 years old. In 1981 their second daughter Camilla was born. Their marriage has lasted for almost 50 years, despite the ups and downs. “Never, not even for a second, did I think that there was a woman for whom I could leave Mara. Never when I came home did I think that that wasn’t my place”, Salerno had always described it in the book.

Wife’s betrayal and forgiveness
Alberto Salerno cheated on his wife Mara Maionchi during their long marriage. She, however, decided to forgive him, as she told in Mapi Danna’s book, which traces the love stories of various characters from the show: “Sand a man cheats on you, he can do it for many reasons that are often futile, very base, and it is a mistake to think that he does it against you. He is the fulcrum, he is the one who wanders, he who was lit by a short circuit, by a small mirage that made him feel like a cowboy”. A forgiveness which, however, for Salerno, was not easy to obtain: “I spent a summer on my knees, on the hot sand. He looked at me like you look at a broken object that you don’t throw away just because you’re fond of it.”.
During the producer’s getaways with other women, Maionchi ‘reciprocated’ by gambling, as he told the weekly Grace: “Betrayal isn’t just a one-night stand, there are many ways to betray, including making people believe you’re a decent person.” The well-known producer, however, remains convinced of her idea regarding cheating and marriage, as she explained to The Republic: “Scrapping a marriage by two horns is a total bullshit. Men, as we know, are what they are.” However, Maionchi explained to Francesca Fagnani, in an interview with Belve which will be broadcast on April 30, that she is convinced that the betrayal also occurred through her fault.
