Coldiretti pride day also in Valle d’Aosta

The Aosta Valley farmers belonging to Coldiretti will meet this morning, Tuesday 30 April, starting from 10.30 in the multipurpose hall of the Cooperative Credit Bank of Gressan. Valle d’Aosta also takes part today Coldiretti pride day, with no less than 50 thousand farmers in all the provinces of Italy who, from north to south, will mobilize to meet in 96 assemblies to build, starting from the base, the next battles that will see Coldiretti engaged in the months that will also come in view of the elections Europeans. All in the year of the celebrations of 80 years of the greatest association agriculture of Italy and Europe.

In Valle d’Aosta the Assembly, in the presence of more 250 farmers and memberswill see the presence of the President of Coldiretti Valle d’Aosta Alessia Gontier and the director Elio Gasco, the President of the Region Renzo Testolin and the Councilor for Agriculture and Natural Resources Marco Carrel.

At the center of the assembly work will be the requests against unfair imports, fakes made in Italy or for an invasion plan which, especially in this historical period, can and must become a valid ally against climate change. During the Assembly, the collection of signatures for a popular European law to guarantee will also be officially launched transparency on the labels of all foodswhich with the abolition of the customs code for the origin of food must become a priority.

April 30th will be the opportunity to relaunch the commitment to denounce to the institutions and consumer citizens that we cannot help but stand on the side of agricultural producers who commit every day to bringing the excellence of our territories to the tables of Italians and to stop the uncontrolled arrival of products from abroad.

Another of the main themes that will be addressed will be that of uncontrolled wildlife, which has long become – as highlighted several times by Coldiretti – a national emergency from an agricultural and security point of view. Wild boars and other species are devouring the work of farmers and breeders, often forced to abandon their territories. There is a lack of extraordinary regional control plans and effective regulatory tools to defend the territory from a real invasion which is putting a sector at risk if we think about what is happening with swine fever in some Italian provinces.

This is why Coldiretti has already asked for immediate intervention to stop the spread of swine fever and protect a sector which is one of the flagships of Made in Italy at the table, with a value between production and related industries of approximately 20 billion and one hundred thousand euros. jobs and with wildlife which is practically the only vector for the spread of swine fever.
