04.30.2024 – 11.53 – On Wednesday evening a man, visibly worried, stopped a patrol car Local police (NIS, Special Interventions Unit) on duty in Piazza Perugino for checks on sensitive areas of the city: he reported to the officers that his eleven year old son he had not returned from football training, where he used to go alone because it was close to their home; for a couple of hours he had been looking for him in vain, with growing concern.
The NIS operators, having collected the first useful information, immediately issued a search note via the Operations Room to all the city’s law enforcement agencies, calling in another patrol and staff from the Judicial Police Unit (NPG) to coordinate the searches . While patrols monitored the territory at search for the minor – after ruling out that he could have been taken to hospital for any reason – the investigators established that the boy had not gone to training but to a friend. The NPG intercepted him right near his companion’s house: in less than an hour from the report, the boy was returned to his father’s care.
