Work completed in Piazzale Inzani

The enhancement works of Piazzale Inzani, in the Oltretorrente district of Parma, have been completed. The interventions involved the replacement of rainwater channels, aiming to improve the safety and practicality of the area for pedestrians and cyclists.

The previous channels, made of Apricena stone slabs, showed limits of resistance to the freeze and thaw cycles typical of the Parma winter climate. This led to deterioration that made replacement necessary to avoid risks to traffic.

The works involved the replacement of the slabs with others in Luserna stone, more suitable for local climatic conditions, ensuring greater safety and durability over time. Furthermore, the floor adjacent to the duct was improved, using porphyry cubes for better usability. The overall project lasted approximately one month.

“The works on the paving of Piazzale Inzani are part of a framework of interventions aimed at guaranteeing a more well-kept and usable urban environment for all residents and visitors of the Oltretorrente district. As an administration we are committed to improving the quality of public space to make Parma increasingly person-friendly, pleasant and welcoming. In this case we also support the traders in the square who contribute to the liveability and spontaneous presence of the neighbourhood” comments Francesco De Vanna, Councilor for Public Works.
