Women’s Serie C, Catania narrowly beaten in Matera

Catania narrowly defeated (3-2) away from Matera Città dei Sassi on the 25th day of the women’s Serie C football championship. Vibrant match with an unfortunate epilogue for the Etna team. In fact, the Lucanians have collected the entire stake, overtaking the rossozzurre in the standings, now seventh.

At the start of the match, following a Gattuso corner, Chiara Barbarino scored the visitors’ lead. Shortly after, Barrile equalizes the score. Sesto scores the momentary 2-1 at the start of the second half, but it is Carlotta Sciuto (born 2009), with her third consecutive goal, who promptly rebalances the situation. In the final, after a crossbar hit by Cammarata, Sesto capitalized on a clever restart and thus gave success to the team led by Giuseppe Lanzolla. The Lecce-Catania match is scheduled for next Sunday.
