“The road of shame, the SP.74”
Danger for motorists and no one intervenes..
The Italian Environmental Guards, after receiving some reports from residents of the area, went to provincial road 74 which leads to the towns of Barretta, Santa Tecchia and Amendola, for an inspection.
The Guards who arrived on Provincial Road 74 actually saw how it was reduced, the road surface was totally deformed, with significant depressions and potholes similar to chasms.
The theoretically best solution, adds Manzella, to limit the risk of damage to the tires and mechanical components of the vehicle is to avoid potholes, an option that is not very feasible in practice: driving “SLALOMANDO” between the chasms that can be encountered on your route and the road surface totally deformed, it’s the complete opposite of safe driving.
Traveling along that stretch of road is truly dangerous with a high risk of road accidents, the appeal to the authorities in charge: intervene with maximum urgency, or temporarily close it to road traffic, because it is a third world road!!
