The city is about to “plunge” with the usual enthusiasm into the days dedicated to the patronal celebrations. Hoping for the clemency of Jupiter Pluvius, we will begin on Saturday 4 May with the opening events of the paliesco year. At 10pm the procession is expected to arrive in Piazza San Secondo, including the Captain of the Palio, the Magistrates, the Rectors and the figures to precede the Investiture and Oath ceremonies of the top exponents of the 21 Committees, followed by the Estimate of the Drappi opera in this 2024 by Maestro Stefano Bressani.
There is great anticipation for the evening of Monday 6th, when the completely new pyromusical show on the water dedicated to San Secondo will be staged on the Tanaro. The following day, the patronal feast, in the morning, at the end of the performance of the AUCTION flag-wavers, the Municipality will donate one of the two Drapes made by Bressani to the Collegiate Church. The distribution of the Soup of the Poor will complete the morning program of the “patronale”, which will continue in the afternoon with a space for the little ones organized by the College of Rectors.
On Wednesday 8th, in the streets and squares of the centre, here is the highly anticipated Carolingian Fair, the most traditional of the city markets. Saturday 11th, in the new headquarters in Piazza Alfieri, a heartfelt challenge between flag-wavers and musicians to win the coveted Paliotto.
