Separate waste collection in Cesena is now close to84 percent. This was announced by the municipal administration, underlining that “the data recorded in March is proof that the citizens of Cesena dispose of waste correctly also following the introduction, over the last year, of the punctual corresponding tariffwhich takes into account the quantity of undifferentiated waste actually delivered by the individual user”. According to the Municipality’s data processed by Hera a decline in production emerges unsorted waste which amounts to 10,098 tonnes in 2023 compared to 13,351 the previous year.
Taking into consideration the data from 2017, in that year 42,110 tonnes were produced compared to 50,826 in 2023, corresponding to a percentage figure of 83.60 percent compared to the 63.79 percent in 2017. Added to these tons of separated waste are the 640 tons of domestic composting.
Reading the data must be carried out keeping in mind that 2023 was an extraordinary year following the events of May which required a withdrawal of 6,124 tonnes of general waste derived from the flood and 130 thousand tons of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment).

Hera informs that Monday 6 May there may be inconveniences in carrying out all the services managed by multiutilityincluding call centers, commercial counters and ecological stations, following one strike, for the entire work shift, proclaimed by the trade union confederations of the category.
