The Green Cross Astisymbol of solidarity and assistance, celebrates its 115th anniversary with a series of events highlighting its long history of dedication to the community. Founded on May 1, 1909the organization has deep roots in the tradition of rescue and healthcare.

The third edition of the Asti Rescue Game
The first event on the calendar is the third edition of the Asti Rescue Game, scheduled for Saturday 4 May. The competition will see teams of rescuers representing the Pinerolo Green Cross, Dogliani Rescue Volunteers, Garessio White Cross, Fossano White Cross, SOS dei Laghi (Varese), Borgotaro-Albareto Voluntary Public Assistance (Parma), Villafranca d’Asti Red Cross and the crew from Anpas Valle d’Aosta Regional Committee – Rescue Volunteers Federation tackle emergency scenarios in various points of the city, with assessments entrusted to qualified healthcare personnel. An opportunity to highlight the importance of teamwork and preparation in medical rescue.
The Super Cerot Band concert
On May 16, the Super Cerot Band will hold a benefit concert entitled “150 years in two”, which combines the celebrations for the 115th anniversary of the Croce Verde Asti with the 35th anniversary of the band. The event will take place at the Alfieri theater in Asti, with the aim of raising funds to support the organisation’s activities.
The institutional moment of the celebrations
The highlight of the celebrations will be Sunday 19 Maywith the award ceremony of three volunteers (Lorenzo Becchino, Vittorio Ravizza and Luigi Francesco Romani) who have dedicated over 25 years to active service. Furthermore, three new vehicles will be inaugurated: an ambulance for advanced rescue, a vehicle for the transport of disabled people and a 9-seater minibus, a sign of the organisation’s continuous commitment to innovation and the efficiency of the services offered. A religious function celebrated by the chaplain is also planned Don Severino Ramello and animated by the Choir of the Parish of Santo Stefano di Antignano. The social lunch will conclude the celebrations.
A long history of commitment and growth
The Green Cross Asti, with its 248 volunteers, it carries out over 17 thousand services a year, including emergency transport, healthcare at events and sporting events. Anpas Piemonte, of which it is part, represents a widespread assistance network with 81 associations and thousands of volunteers who travel almost 20 million kilometers annually in service to the community.
