The long bridge between April 25th and May 1st is preparing to close as it began, with the umbrella and down jacket at hand. After a Sunday in which the sky and temperatures returned to practically summer levels, from Tuesday a new worsening is in fact expected in Umbria, with even “significant” rainfall and a “significant” drop in temperatures. On Monday the sky began to cover again due to currents coming from Africa, which are associated with “cloud bodies that can give rise to local precipitation mixed with sand”. «These currents anticipate a worsening of the weather – explains Cavallucci – which will see the first phenomena of instability in the afternoon from Tuesday, but which will then show its rainy side starting from May 1st with a significant drop in temperature, after the further increase in the maximum values on Monday, which will be the hottest day of the whole week”. On Tuesday, infiltrations of humid Atlantic air could bring instability from the afternoon with the possibility of thunderstorms. «Then, on Wednesday the weather will be more unstable due to the passage of a disturbance fed by colder Atlantic air, which will also bring scattered rainfall on Thursday. The rainfall maps, to be taken with a pinch of salt and in a purely indicative way, show us – concludes Cavallucci – important quantities for our region”.
